Review of Acciona-East Rockingham waste-disposal deal has restarted: Australian watchdog

( September 29, 2025, 01:50 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The review of global-infrastructure developer Acciona’s bid to acquire the East Rockingham Waste to Energy Program, which is currently in receivership, has restarted in Australia, after the competition watchdog announced it had received the additional information it had asked for. In an entry on its website, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said it had set a new preliminary date for a decision for Oct. 23. This follows two delays in the review under the existing informal merger-clearance regime, which will be replaced by the new mandatory-notification regime on Jan. 1, 2026.
