Trump, US FTC commissioners seek stay of order finding Slaughter's firing unlawful

( July 18, 2025, 04:05 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US President Donald Trump, along with defendants Federal Trade Commission Chair Andrew Ferguson, Commissioner Melissa Holyoak and Executive Director David Robbins, filed a motion to stay an order by US Judge Loren Alikhan finding that the removal of Democratic Commissioner Rebecca Kelly Slaughter was "unlawful." In a separate court brief, the defendants also filed a notice of appeal to the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. "This relief constitutes an extraordinary intrusion into the President’s authority," they said in a memorandum.See attached document. Docket text follows...
