Chevron-Hess, Exxon-Pioneer final orders reopened and set aside by US FTC

( July 17, 2025, 22:18 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Federal Trade Commission reopened and set aside the final orders in the matters of Chevron-Hess and Exxon-Pioneer, the agency announced. Both final consent orders, which prohibited Chevron and Exxon from nominating, designating or appointing Hess CEO John B. Hess and Pioneer CEO Scott Sheffield, respectively, to their board of directors, was approved just days before the inauguration of President Donald Trump and saw now-Chairman Andrew Ferguson and Melissa Holyoak dissenting. Commissioner Mark Meador concurred with the decision but noted the impact of OPEC and OPEC+ on global oil and gas markets and that the FTC should bring action against collusion or attempts to collude.See attached documents....
