Google granted delayed trial in Texas adtech case

( July 17, 2025, 18:55 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google was granted a request to delay a current Aug. 11 trial date on liability issues in states’ challenge to its adtech business given the upcoming remedies trial in a related case in Virginia brought by the US Department of Justice. “[E]ven if this case proceeds under the current timetable, at some point before final judgment is reached here, a final decision will be issued in the [Eastern District of Virginia] action. That decision will undoubtedly impact, and may substantially narrow, the issues to be resolved in this case. Under the circumstances, principles of judicial economy and avoiding duplicative proceedings counsel in favor of granting the requested continuance,” District Judge Sean D. Jordan said.
