South Korea's new science minister pledges faster, stronger push for AI development

In his inauguration speech today, Bae also expressed support for AI-related industries, including semiconductors, but stopped short of commenting on whether some provisions of the AI law might be delayed. South Korea’s new science minister pledged today to accelerate the country’s artificial intelligence infrastructure, finalize subordinate regulations for the AI law and expand programs to train and retain AI talent — all with the goal of transforming the country into a global AI powerhouse....
