Trump orders review-and-repeal effort of unlawful regulations

( April 10, 2025, 17:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US President Donald Trump issued a memorandum on an executive order "directing the repeal of unlawful regulations," saying that unlawful, unnecessary, and onerous regulations impede these objectives and impose massive costs on consumers and businesses. The memo said that in recent years, the Supreme Court has issued a series of decisions that recognize appropriate constitutional boundaries on the power of unelected bureaucrats and that restore checks on unlawful agency actions. "Yet, despite these critical course corrections, unlawful regulations — often promulgated in reliance on now-superseded Supreme Court decisions — remain on the books," the memo said. He ordered a "review-and-repeal effort" to prioritize the lawfulness of regulations under 10 Supreme Court decisions.Statement follows below:...
