Italian green-power revenue cap compatible with EU law, legal opinion says

( February 6, 2025, 14:50 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: EU laws on the electricity market, renewable energy and emergency intervention over high energy prices don't conflict with a national Italian rule setting a cap on market revenues from the sale of electricity produced from certain renewable energy sources, according to a non-binding legal opinion for the EU's top court. The national rule specifies how the cap should be determined, and EU law doesn't preclude this as long as certain conditions in the EU regulation on emergency price interventions are met.
