AI developers see push by UK lawmakers to curb web crawlers with copyright rules

The data regulator could also be given new responsibilities for enforcing the regulations, after the House of Lords voted to add new provisions to the Data (User and Access) Bill. The government is almost certain to reverse the amendments during future scrutiny, however.The UK creative sector could benefit under a range of changes made to a draft data reform law yesterday that would require the government to place regulations on the web crawlers deployed for collecting data for training generative AI....
