AI rules, data transfers, online ads among pro-growth proposals by UK's ICO

( January 27, 2025, 12:39 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: UK companies could see increased regulatory certainty under a proposal by the data protection watchdog to write a "single set of rules" for AI, aimed at unlocking billions of pounds in economic growth. The Information Commissioner’s Office on Friday published a letter to government with seven pro-growth "commitments." Proposals also include new guidance to make international data transfers easier and quicker; cost-cutting initiatives for small businesses; and smoothing the digital advertising regulatory landscape.
