Indonesia's energy, construction sectors still score lowest on competitiveness

( January 8, 2025, 01:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Indonesia's competition chief called for greater resources and structural reforms to address persistently low competition in sectors like energy, mining, water, waste management and construction. These sectors ranked lowest again in the annual competitiveness index produced by the Center for Economics and Development Studies at Padjadjaran University. Indonesian Competition Commission chair Fanshurullah Asa pledged to enhance monitoring, advocacy, and enforcement in these areas but stressed the need to address anti-competitive government policies.
