TikTok urges US Supreme Court to overturn law that would force sale or ban

( December 27, 2024, 21:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: TikTok urged the US Supreme Court to overturn the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit's decision holding that the Protecting Americans From Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act is constitutional. TikTok said it has worked with the US government to address national security concerns and the court should not allow Congress' "short cut" to ban the law to take effect. "Congress did not even consider obvious, less-burdensome means, likely because it was pursuing broader, improper ends. The First Amendment does not tolerate such short-cuts, which imperil the free-speech rights not just of Petitioners and their 170 million American users, but the entire Nation," TikTok said.See attached file....
