Factual disputes preclude summary judgment motions by Nike, Converse

( December 10, 2024, 10:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A US judge in Oregon will hold a 12-day trial in February 2025 on allegations Nike and Converse violated the Defend Trade Secrets Act.  Vi3, formerly known as Valmarc, accuses Nike of incorporating elements from Vi3’s “Total Vision System” (TVS) into “Connected Product” (CP), Nike’s own anti-counterfeiting program. Nike received its knowhow from discussions with Vi3 as well as from former employees of Converse, a Nike subsidiary and Vi3’s first paying customer, Vi3 claims. US Judge Karin J. Immergut of the District of Oregon denied the defendants' motion for summary judgment, citing the parties' voluminous factual disputes.See attached document....
