Google-Anthropic partnership doesn’t qualify for merger probe, UK regulator says

The partnership included Google acquiring non-voting shares in the startup, debt financing and supply of computing capacity.Google’s partnership with Anthropic has effectively been cleared by the UK antitrust regulator, which said there wasn’t evidence that the tech giant had “material influence” over the artificial intelligence company, and the arrangement didn't meet the threshold for a merger review....
