Countries applying international aviation CO2 offset scheme in 2024 published by EU commission

( November 13, 2024, 09:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission adopted the list of countries applying the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation, or CORSIA, for emissions in 2024 under the EU emissions trading system. The scheme aims to cut emissions of international flights and reduce the impact of aviation on climate change. The EU regulator is to adopt each year a list of countries, other than EEA countries, Switzerland and the UK, which are considered to be applying CORSIA. The regulation will enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the bloc's official bulletin.Legal text and annex attached....
