UK cybersecurity drive focuses on certification program to better protect 'whole economy'

The government isn't likely to require certification, a technology minister said today, but growing the ten-year-old "Cyber Essentials" program is hoped to encourage businesses to take the issue more seriously.Barclays, NatWest, Lloyds and other UK banks committed today, with the backing of the technology ministry and National Cyber Security Centre, to incorporate a government-backed security certification in their supplier requirements (see here)....
