EU budget chief candidate will push for 'ambitious' funding framework, he tells lawmakers

If confirmed next month following an oral hearing at the European Parliament, Serafin will be tasked to prepare the next next multi-annual EU budget, a framework running from 2027 to 2034 and detailing funding for the bloc's main policies. In a set of written answers to lawmakers' questions, published today, he pledged "a policy-based budget to achieve the objectives of our Union," especially in defense and security, competitiveness, technology, research and innovation....
