Bologna airport, data processor aiComply get Italian GDPR fines

( August 2, 2021, 15:14 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Aeroporto Guglielmo Marconi di Bologna and its data processor aiComply have been fined by the Italian data protection authority, for violating the GDPR. The companies were investigated for a failure to protect the confidentiality of whistleblowers by making the data available to third parties, the regulator said. The airport lacked risk assessment and didn't use a secured network protocol and encryption techniques for transferring and storing personal data, therefore it received a fine of 40,000 euros, the regulator said. AiComply was fined 20,000 euros because it also lacked sufficient data-processor agreement and adequate technical and organizational measures for data security, the regulator said.Statement follows (in Italian).
