Antitrust lawmakers push back on US judge's concerns over House bill on multidistrict litigation

( July 29, 2021, 09:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Leading US antitrust lawmakers disputed US District Judge Roslynn Mauskopf's criticisms of a pending House bill on multidistrict antitrust litigation  Mauskopf wrote a letter in her capacity as director of the Administrative Office of the US Courts expressing concern that the State Antitrust Enforcement Venue Act could negatively impact the efficiency and conduct of multidistrict litigation. In a letter penned by US Senators Amy Klobuchar and Mike Lee, who serve as chair and ranking member of the Senate antitrust subcommittee, and their House counterparts, David Cicilline and Ken Buck, the lawmakers said the bills "aim to give federal and state enforcers relative parity — neither federal nor state governments should be hamstrung in their efforts to halt antitrust violations or protect their citizens from anticompetitive conduct." Statement and document follow....
