Facebook faces German probe into non-filing of Kustomer deal

( July 23, 2021, 08:07 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Facebook is facing an investigation in Germany over whether it should have notified its acquisition of customer-services startup Kustomer to the Bundeskartellamt. The regulator said requests had been made to Facebook and Kustomer to determine whether the deal meets the transaction-value threshold in German merger-control rules. The takeover is currently being reviewed by the European Commission, following a referral from Austria. The German watchdog said it didn’t join that request, because its view is that national regulators should only refer a deal when it is subject to a notification requirement in the country, which has yet to be clarified in the present case.Statement follows....
