( July 19, 2021, 23:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Biden administration has declared its support for the Consumer Protection and Recovery Act, legislation being considered in the House that would restore the Federal Trade Commission’s decades-long understanding of its authority to obtain equitable relief in federal courts. "The Administration applauds this step to expressly authorize the FTC to seek permanent injunctions and pursue equitable relief for all violations of law enforced by the Commission and ensure that the cost of illegal practices falls on bad actors, not consumers targeted by illegal scams," the White House said in a statement of administration policy.Statement follows in full.
