Lanzhou urban management committee ends anticompetitive conduct after probe by Chinese regulator

( May 4, 2023, 08:41 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Lanzhou urban management committee has been deemed by the Gansu provincial Administration for Market Regulation to have violated China’s Antimonopoly Law by designating a specific company as the sole provider of services relating to the collection, transport and treatment of kitchen waste produced by catering companies in the city of Lanzhou. The urban management committee’s practice directly restricted other qualified operators from competing in the market, the Gansu market regulator said in a statement. The committee has taken corrective measures to eliminate the anticompetitive impact of its practice.
