​Grab gets stern warning from Malaysia, pledges no price hikes after Uber deal

( April 3, 2018, 05:40 GMT | Insight) -- Malaysia has warned ride-hailing firm Grab that it won’t take any anticompetitive practices lightly following the firm's acquisition of with Uber’s Southeast Asian operations, according to local media reports. Speaking in parliament, Nancy Shukri, a minister in the Department of Malaysia's Prime Minister, said the warning had been spelled out clearly in a meeting with Grab last week.Malaysia has warned ride-hailing firm Grab that it won’t take any anticompetitive practices lightly following the firm's acquisition of with Uber’s Southeast Asian operations, according to local media reports. She said the Malaysia Competition Commission would keep a close eye on Grab, and that the Competition Act would be enforced in case of any anticompetitive behavior. In response, she said Grab had guaranteed that there would not be any form of price hikes or unfair pricing....
