Valve draws US antitrust complaint it used restrictive 'Most Favored Nation' clauses with game developers

( January 28, 2021, 23:29 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Valve, the owner of PC-gaming platform Steam, has drawn a US antitrust complaint from a proposed class of consumers who say the company has used restrictive "Most Favored Nation" clauses with game developers to prevent games from being offered at lower prices on rival platforms. The complaint says 75 percent of all PC games in the US are sold through the Steam platform, and as a result of the clauses, PC game prices remain high even though rival platforms such as Epic Games and Microsoft charge lower commission fees for distributing games. Game developers CD Projekt and Ubisoft are also named as defendants in the lawsuit. The case was filed with the US District Court for the Central District of California. See attached document....
