South Korea finalizes plan to set up high-level AI committee by early September

( July 30, 2024, 02:56 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea’s plan to establish a presidential committee on artificial intelligence was approved at the cabinet council today. The country is trying to mobilize public- and private-sector capabilities to boost its competitiveness in the global AI industry. The Ministry of Science and ICT said it will work on establishing the committee with the aim of launching it between late August and early September. South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol will chair the committee, with 10 ministers or minister-level officials also participating along with around 30 experts from the private sector.The statement, in Korean, is attached....
