​Australian senate committee recommends abolishing facilitation payments in long anticipated report on foreign bribery

The Australian senate economics references committee said “it is essential” that candidates for office are included in the definition of foreign public officials, that the offence of “improperly influencing” a foreign public official needs to be clarified and that regulators should adopt processes that would encourage companies to self-report instances of foreign bribery.
