European Battery Alliance's EUR3.2 billion euro state aid gets EU approval

( December 9, 2019, 10:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Poland and Sweden today received approval from the European Commission to fund a 3.2 billion euro plan for innovative and sustainable technologies for batteries. The initiative, known as the European Battery Alliance, aims to achieve longer life, shorter charging times and better safety. “The approved aid will ensure that this important project can go ahead without unduly distorting competition,” said commission executive vice-president Margrethe Vestager.Statement follows....
