Nike's Dutch tax ruling: EU court publishes hearing report

( January 25, 2021, 09:28 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Two Dutch subsidiaries of sports-shoe maker Nike appeared today at the EU General Court, to challenge the European Commission's decision to open a formal state aid probe into Dutch tax breaks granted since 2006. Nike is arguing that the commission made a mistake in its preliminary assessment of the “aid character” of the measures, that it didn't provide enough reasons that the measures were state aid, and that it prematurely opened the formal probe although the preliminary investigation could have been continued.
