Google moves to dismiss Indiana location data privacy suit

( April 15, 2022, 21:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google has filed a motion to dismiss claims by Indiana's attorney general that the company illegally harvested location data from Android devices after users switched off the "Location History" setting on their phones or tablets. "Plaintiff’s overreach is not limited to the improper assertion of personal jurisdiction over Google," the company told an Indiana Superior Court judge in Indianapolis. "Rather, it extends to pursuing claims and seeking remedies that it has no statutory authority to pursue. Thus, even if the Court determines that there is a sufficient basis to assert personal jurisdiction over Google, it should exercise its discretion to dismiss or strike certain portions of the Amended Complaint that are insufficient as a matter of law."See attached document....
