South Korean competition regulator seeks public comment on M&A guidelines

( October 17, 2022, 04:24 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The South Korean competition regulator is seeking public input on draft revisions to the M&A guidelines from Oct. 18 to Nov. 7. The agency is seeking to introduce simplified M&A filing and review procedures for mergers that would not require in-depth reviews, including establishment of project financing vehicles, additional investment in private equity funds and capital investment in startups that comes with an executive position. Mergers that fall under this criteria can file for an online review and get a result within 15 days. The agency is also expanding the safe harbor criteria to companies whose market share falls under 10 percent, in response to a growing number of mergers to secure stable supplies of resources and new technology-driven mergers.The texts of draft revisions, in Korean, is attached....
