European court to consider extradition matter affecting Firtash FCPA case, lawyers tell US judge

( March 16, 2018, 23:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Dmitry Firtash, a Ukrainian billionaire facing Foreign Corrupt Practices Act charges, possibly could be extradited sooner than expected depending on the outcome of European cases, his lawyers told a US district judge. The Court of Justices of the European Union is expected to hear a case on "the applicability of the EU Charter on Human Rights to extraordinary appeal proceedings in the Austrian Supreme Court." Although Firtash is not a party to this case, the decision is expected to affect the extradition request the US has made to Austria for Firtash. Firtash is accused, with others, of bribing Indian officials in a titanium deal. Please see attached letter....
