X tells Ninth Circuit that California content moderation disclosure law violates First Amendment

( February 14, 2024, 18:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: X Corp said in its opening brief to the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit that a new California law that requires social media companies to report to the California attorney general about their policies and actions to limit or block hate speech, disinformation and other types of harmful content is unconstitutional. "Both the structure of the law and the manner in which AG [Rob] Bonta has already threatened to apply it impermissibly interfere with social media companies' rights under the First Amendment and the California Constitution to moderate user content on their platforms free of state interference with their editorial judgment," X told the Ninth Circuit.See document below....
