Malaysian transport sector market review finds possible anticompetitive issues

( June 21, 2021, 04:13 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Malaysia's transportation sector could be suffering from anticompetitive behavior, such as possible exclusive dealing between shipping lines and depot operators, and possible collusion behind some of the charges in the port logistics sub-sector, according to a draft market review report published by the Malaysia Competition Commission for consultation. The report also flagged competition issues in the motor vehicle warranty sub-sector, such as those related to the warranty restrictions imposed by car manufacturers, and the agreements between car manufacturers and insurance companies over car accident repairs.
