CoStar Group, Matterport received second request from US FTC on July 3; UK CMA has no more questions on deal

( July 5, 2024, 15:54 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: CoStar Group, a digital real estate marketplace operator, and Matterport, which provides virtual reality tours of buildings, each received second request inquiries from the US Federal Trade Commission regarding CoStar's proposed $1.6 billion acquisition of Matterport, according to a July 3 filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.  In that same filing, Matterport revealed that dealmakers had gotten encouraging feedback from UK officials about their transaction in June. "On June 14, 2024, the Competition and Markets Authority in the United Kingdom responded to a briefing paper submitted by CoStar Group in respect of the Transaction to indicate that it has, at such time, no further questions related to the Transaction," Matterport stated. "Additionally, on June 25, 2024, the Secretary of State in the Cabinet Office informed CoStar Group that the UK Government will not take any further action in relation to the Transaction under the UK National Security and Investment Act 2021."See SEC filing below. ...
