​India Competition Commission orders investigation into 10 coal transporters over alleged bid rigging

( July 23, 2015, 08:18 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Competition Commission of India directed its director general to investigate allegations of bid rigging against 10 companies that provide ancillary services for coal mines. The companies are accused of entering into agreements to quote identical or similar rates in biddings for sand and coal transportation services. The CCI found the quotations were beyond reasonable costs. The companies include SSV Coal Carriers, Bimal Kumar Khandelwal, Pravin Transport, Khandelwal Transport, Khandelwal Earth Movers, Khanduja Coal Transport, Punya Coal Road Lines, Himmatlal Agrawal, Punjab Transport and Avaneesh Logistics.The statement is attached....
