​MIIT official says Chinese carriers to complete cuts in broadband charges by end October

( July 23, 2015, 04:33 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Three major Chinese telecoms companies — China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom — will conclude a campaign to cut charges on broadband connections by the end of October, Wen Ku, an official from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said in a press briefing. The companies are also in the process of taking measures to lower the charges for roaming services. Wen said the ministry aims to achieve an average 30-percent reduction in Internet charges for mobile and broadband Internet users.
