US Democratic senators question compensation package of outgoing Wells Fargo CEO Stumpf

( October 20, 2016, 14:35 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US Democratic senators Elizabeth Warren and Bob Menendez raised questions about the compensation package that outgoing Wells Fargo Chairman and CEO John Stumpf will receive upon his retirement in the wake of a marketing scandal at the bank.  In particular, the senators asked for clarification on whether Stumpf would receive a $24 million "supplemental cash balance plan." Warren and Menendez, from Massachusetts and New Jersey respectively, have been critical of lucrative compensation for executives of financial institutions which have performed poorly for customers and stockholders or which have been implicated in wrongdoing.Statement follows.
