Solar energy association says tariffs will cost US jobs, urges president to reverse tariffs, Congress to prevent them

( March 7, 2018, 20:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Solar Energy Industries Association said that President Donald Trump and Congress should reconsider the government's approach to tariffs, comparing the recent proposal for high tariffs on steel and aluminum imports to a prior tariff the Trump administration imposed on solar products. "​The actual number of jobs added because of solar tariffs will be negligible under the best of circumstances, while the number of jobs likely to be lost because of these tariffs is 23,000," SEIA said.
