DOJ recommends former Starkist executive Hodge get $25,000 fine, reduced prison time for tuna price-fixing

( December 23, 2020, 23:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Department of Justice recommended former Starkist executive Stephen Hodge pay a $25,000 fine and serve an unspecified, but reduced, prison sentence for his participation in a conspiracy to fix the prices of canned tuna. In a filing, the DOJ argued that its sentencing guidelines would result in a sentence ranging from 37 to 46 months. But due to Hodge's cooperation with the DOJ's investigation of the conspiracy and a "downward variance" applied to the sentence of former Bumble Bee Chief Executive and co-conspirator Christopher Lischewski, Hodge should get a reduced sentence, the agency argued. The agency also said Hodge should serve a term of supervised release upon completing his sentence. See document below. ...
