SmileDirectClub wins leave to amend antitrust complaint against Georgia dentistry board

( April 3, 2023, 16:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: SmileDirectClub can move forward with amending an antitrust complaint seeking to enjoin allegedly anticompetitive Georgia Board of Dentristry regulations for digital teeth scanning, a US federal judge said.  The plaintiff met its burden to allege anticompetitive harm and the defendants are not entitled to immunity under the state action doctrine at this stage, US District Judge Steven Grimberg said in an order granting leave to amend. Grimberg deemed separate claims under Georgia's constitution "futile," denying leave to amend. Document attached....
