EU, US suspend Airbus-Boeing tariffs for five years to find ‘lasting solution’ on subsidies

( June 15, 2021, 12:08 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The EU and US have agreed to suspend tariffs linked to the Airbus-Boeing subsidy dispute for five years, the European Commission said in a statement. During this time, the two sides “will collaborate on jointly analyzing and addressing non-market practices of third parties that may harm our large civil aircraft sectors,” it reads. Thanks to this settlement, “we now have time and space to find a lasting solution through our new Working Group on Aircraft, while saving billions of euros in duties for importers on both sides of the Atlantic,” said EU trade chief Valdis Dombrovskis.Statement follows....
