Colombia's SIC fines 51 companies, 19 individuals in bid-rigging cartel probe

( September 22, 2022, 14:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Fifty-one companies, including several construction firms, and 19 individuals have been fined a total of $3.1 billion Colombian pesos ($710,665) by the national competition authority for colluding in bidding processes carried out by the Corporación Autonomia Regional del Canal del Dique, according to a statement. The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce, or SIC, said the bid processes were for contracting services of cleaning and maintenance of canals, streams and watersheds in Bolívar.
