( March 24, 2023, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US Federal Trade Commission staff said that Juul Labs and Altria Group’s proposed settlement falls woefully short. They opposed setting aside their antitrust claims to discuss settlement, saying that the last-minute settlement fails even to meet the conditions set forth in the FTC notice of contemplated relief and proposed order. The companies’ proposed agreement would prohibit any future non-compete agreements between them without FTC permission, but the FTC proposal would stop any such agreement or e-cigarette transaction between them and other competitors.See document below. ...
