Rules on structured finance, benchmarks take priority, says EU presidency

( July 15, 2015, 16:29 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Work on the European Commission's high quality securitization proposal will be a high-priority item for the Luxembourgish EU presidency, as the country takes over the six-month rotation in that role. The legislation is expected to be put forward by the commission in September, as part of its capital markets union initiative. The new EU presidency will also look to make progress with the benchmarks bill in the hopes of finalizing a deal by the end of the year, Finance Minister Piere Gramegna said in the European Parliament.The following text is from the statement....
