Network-fee payment dispute draws mixed responses from South Korean lawmakers

In the first public hearing on the contentious issue, lawmakers also acknowledged that the network-fee dispute reveals a market failure that must be addressed by state input. The hearing marks the resumption of talks after deliberations were put on hold following concerns expressed about the legislation from the US Trade Representative.The ongoing network-fee dispute between Netflix and SK Broadband has provoked anger from South Korean lawmakers and led to a flurry of bills requiring global digital behemoths to pay for the vast amount of traffic they generate on local networks....
