US Supreme Court rejects injunction that halted government communications with social media companies

( June 26, 2024, 14:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Supreme Court decided to permanently end the injunction that halted government officials from talking to social media companies about misinformation and other topics. In a 6-3 decision, the court said the plaintiffs that sought the injunction lacked standing. "To establish standing, the plaintiffs must demonstrate a substantial risk that, in the near future, they will suffer an injury that is traceable to a Government defendant and redressable by the injunction they seek. Because no plaintiff has carried that burden, none has standing to seek a preliminary injunction," Justice Amy Coney Barrett wrote in the majority's opinion.See attached document....
