CADE, Brazil's Central Bank sign MOU to coordinate financial sector cases

( February 28, 2018, 15:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Brazilian competition agency and the Central Bank of Brazil signed a memorandum of understanding agreeing to coordinate their merger and conduct investigations in the financial sector to avoid conflicting decisions. On the merger side, the Administrative Council for Economic Defense, or CADE, will follow the Central Bank's decisions on deals resulting in systemic risks, but for all other transactions, the two institutions will have to approve the deal for it to be closed.
