Yazaki settles auto parts probe in Brazil; Hellman settles air, maritime freight cartel

( July 14, 2015, 19:07 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Global automotive parts supplier Yazaki, along with related companies and 17 executives, agreed to pay $55.8 million reais ($17.8 million) to settle a probe into an alleged cartel in the domestic and international market for automotive harnesses and electrical and electronic automotive components, including electronic control units, junction boxes, meter and antenna cables. The Brazilian antitrust regulator also settled a probe with Hellman do Brasil over its involvement in an alleged cartel in air and maritime freight. Executive Joachim Kohl and Hellman Worldwide Logistics, the third company to offer a settlement agreement, and agreed to pay 1.8 million reais ($578,350).Statement follows in full....
