Law mandating zero CO2 emissions from new cars and vans from 2035 gets final approval

( March 28, 2023, 12:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The law setting the 2035 end date for the registration of CO2-emitting cars and vans in Europe has been approved by the EU ministers and will now be published in the Official Journal, marking the final step of the adoption procedure. The law contains a recital saying that the European Commission will make a proposal for registering some vehicles using exclusively CO2-neutral fuels after 2035, thus keeping the door open to such a derogation.
