Meta sued over Apple iOS privacy update

( September 15, 2022, 22:16 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Meta is being accused of creating software code that lets it circumvent recent Apple iOS privacy restrictions and track and store Facebook users' online activity, according to a proposed class action filed in California federal court. Wayne Mitchell of Sacramento alleges in his complaint that Meta created the new programming code after Apple updated its operating system and required app-makers to obtain informed consent before tracking users' online activities, violating state and federal privacy laws. "Meta is using this tool to gain an advantage over its competitors and, with respect to iOS users, preserve its ability to intercept and track their communications with third-party websites," Mitchell said. See document below....
