​Venezuela arrests three at oil company unit for corruption in purchasing

( November 2, 2017, 23:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Three high-level executives of Bariven, the procurement arm of Venezuelan state oil company PdVSA, have been arrested by Venezuelan authorities for allegedly issuing contracts with inflated prices for equipment. Those arrested were Francisco Jiménez Giusti, president; Joaquín Torres Velásquez, technical services manager; and Javier Sosa, purchasing analyst.
